Martina Toscani is a third year PhD student at Milano Statale, working in the group of Professor Giuseppe Lodato. She is also collaborating with Professor Elena Rossi from Leiden Observatory and with Proessor Daniel J. Price from Monash University.
Martina is interested in Multimessenger Astrophysics and in particular in Tidal Disruption Events, that arise when stars are disrupted due to the tides induced by the presence of Black Holes. In particular she studies the gravitational emission from these sources, both analytically and numerically, using a GRSPH code, PHANTOM.
