Cristian Franceschet is a fixed-term researcher RTD-A.
He obtained his degree in Physics from the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2004.
From 2004 to 2009 he worked at Thales Alenia Space Italia as an AIV engineer in the context of the PLANCK satellite (ESA) for the measurement of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropies. Moreover, he contributed to the development of the GALILEO European Global Navigation Satellite System.
Since 2009 he has been working at the University of Milan in the field of observational cosmology, receiving his PhD in Physics in 2016.
As scientific director of the microwave laboratory of the Physics department, he carries out electromagnetic and mechanical design, development and characterization of microwave antennas and components in an anechoic environment.
He is currently involved in scientific projects for the observation of the polarized CMB, including the Large Scale Polarization Explorer experiment (ASI) and the LiteBIRD satellite (JAXA).
