Matilde Barberi Squarotti is a first year PhD in Cosmology, working under the supervision of Prof. Luigi Guzzo.

She manly focuses on the analysis of the statistical properties of the large-scale structure of the Universe as a probe of cosmological parameters, using a multi-tracer approach; this technique aims to exploit the complementarity of different tracers of the dark matter distribution (such as galaxies or neutral hydrogen residing in the cosmic web) to get tighter constraints on the parameters of interest.

She is not only interest in the theoretical investigation of the cosmological model, but also in the analysis of observational data: she is currently working on galaxy surveys, in particular on the ESA mission Euclid, and on the analysis of neutral hydrogen intensity mapping data, as a member of the MeerKLASS Collaboration.
