Federico Tosone is an associate researcher at the Physics Department. He obtained his PhD in 2021 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, under the supervision of Dr. Mark Neyrinck, Prof. Luigi Guzzo and Prof. Nicola Vittorio. His main interest is the study of the information content in the Large Scale Structure of the Universe.

During his PhD he developed numerical and semi-analytical techniques to generate fast surrogate realizations of the dark matter distribution measured in N-body simulations.

Currently, his main interest is the application of machine learning algorithms to cosmological simulations, and their potential to predict the dynamical evolution of dark matter from the initial conditions of the Universe.
